    internal design of many PHYs you have to read the register
    twice. The problem is more apparent in 10Mbit mode.
  - add new mode ".jffs2s" for reading from a NAND device: it just
    skips over bad blocks.
  - add networking support for VLANs (802.1q), and CDP (Cisco
    Discovery Protocol)
